Overall, the best overview of the Evenki languages of Siberia in English. Its advantages are that it's a recent volume, includes new scholarship, and is easy enough to find/purchase. The approach to organization of materials taken by Routledge is also very useful, however, it's not long enough and lacks detail on some of the aspects of the less-common variants of Evenki. This is going to be the standard text and reference for probably a decade or greater, so it should have been more comprehensive'and I say that, yes, even though it is fairly good in its scope, because in places it's lacking in depth.
