John Adams Speaks for Freedom (Ready-to-Read Stories of Famous American (Ready-to-Read Stories of Famous American, Level 3 Series) Book

When I first picked up this book, I must admit that I was not expecting it to be as informational as it was. The book told me the life story of our second president, John Adams. It started out talking of his childhood in Massachusetts and he went on to go to Harvard and became a lawyer. Then he married Abigail and joined the Continental Congress. It goes on to talk about how he was part of the Declaration of Independence and how he was also the first Vice President and then the second President of our country. A fun fact that I learned when reading this book was that his son, John Quincy Adams, went on to become president. I knew John Quincy Adams was a president but I did not know that he was John Adams son. Children could learn many things from reading this easy to read book, especially if they are learning about presidents or John Adams himself. The book also had informative illustrations to go along with the text which was great.
