Lin's backpack
This is like an older version of Too Much Noise. In this story, Leopard allows some monkeys to sleep in his tree house, but they are so noisy, he decides to sleepover at a friend's house. But then that friend can't sleep because of the noise Leopard makes...and on and on. Cumulative stories like these are great to help build children's narrative skills.
I told this story in Spanish using flannelboard artwork for a monkey-themed Spanish story time program.
Update: I told this story again in March 2013 for a safari-inspired program for both Spanish and bilingual story times.
