Moscow twilight Book

I had pretty low expectations of this, but did at least think there would be some familiar references. The latter was true, and it was surprisingly not as completely lame as I feared. It's definitely shrouded in that Cold-War-intrigue-yields-to-glastnost vibe representative of the Soviet Union in 1989. There's a definitely James Bondness about it, and the author clearly has a fair grasp of the colloquial Russian culture. The story is pretty gritty, but so was the time and the place. In terms of the overall flow of the book, one might think that things get disproportionately flowery and lofty when the Georgian dissident Georgi speaks. But I'm gonna say this, again, rings accurate in how it would have gone for the intellectuals to present their assessment of the situation to those around them. Easy quick read; not for everyone.
