General interest and research about near-death experiences have increased over the past 20 years. Hinze is a pioneer in the related field of prebirth experiences. Hinze spent six years compiling approximately 150 prebirth case histories by placing ads in newspapers and through word of mouth. Her book conveys dozens of stories shared by people who experienced some form of spiritual communication with unborn children, not always their own, through dreams or waking visions that were confirmed after birth.
