The uninvited guest and other Jewish holiday tales Book

This beautifully illustrated book includes seven stories for different Jewish holidays. The introduction states: "The stories in this book are drawn from the folklore and legend that surround the holidays of the Jewish people.... Keeping the holiday traditions was one way of passing on a common Jewish heritage in every generation." Not only is there an introduction before each story explaining the holiday and sharing some customs, at the end of the book is a section explaining the origins of stories told, as well as a glossary. I feel that reading this book aloud reflects its spirit and roots in oral storytelling.
