However, the real pictures sparked interest as well as the illustrations. The index and glossary are good resources in this book for students wanting to enrich their vocabulary and content knowledge. This book would be very useful in a classroom, especially if a student needed specific information on trains or the Transcontinental Railroad. This book can be used in a history class to help teach about the Transcontinental Railroad and its importance in U.S. History. This book can also be used as a resource when doing a report on trains or the Transcontinental Railroad.
