In het begin had ik veel moeite met de objectieve schrijfstijl van Elmer. Hoe kan je geen partij kiezen, dacht ik gefrustreerd. Later begreep ik dat juist door de emotie eruit te halen je echt kunt kijken naar deze geschiedenis. En werd ik van gefrustreerd steeds verdrietiger hoe zinloos, op alle terreinen, dit is geweest. En hoe pijnlijk het is dat zo weinig mensen daar oprecht nog in geÃ¯nteresseerd zijn laat staan erkennen.
