From Demon to Darling: A Legal History of Wine in America

Mendelson, a specialist in wine law, is uniquely and preeminently qualified to tell this story, which hasn't exactly been done to death- I don't think I knew there was a field of "wine law". His is a niche subject, but he fills the gap competently, if unimaginatively. The story is boring, the prose is dry. But what other options on the subject are there? Recommended of necessity, but not with enthusiasm.
