Inventing America's "Worst" Family: Eugenics, Islam, and the Fall and Rise of the Tribe of Ishmael
Random sample; the Ishmael's, a white Christian family come to exemplify all that eugenics stood against, THEN "became" in the 1970s a tri-racial Muslim gypsy tribe (with the help of an essay later anthologized in the anarchist tome "Gone to Croatan"). Sympathetic independent scholars follow a similar pattern to neo-pagans, constructing a shared past derived from the faulty records of 'their' persecutors - in this framework, eugenicists and racial theorists - including "wonderful" genocidal quotes from DuBois' forgotten essay "Black Folk and Birth Control," Birth Control Review, etc.
