Welcome back to elementary school social studies class! This book, about the Louisiana Purchase and the resulting expedition by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, is an interesting account of that exciting time period in American history. There are excerpts of maps, drawings, journal entries, supply lists, and even a replica of a dugout canoe. The famous Shoshone female guide, Sacagawea, is discussed in this book too. It is a succinct summary of what happened during the approximately three year time period from when the land was purchased from France and the trip to explore the new land.
