Another sweet satisfying read with a believable couple. I like both of them.

This historical romantic suspense has an afterlife/mediums connection but is not one of the author's paranormals. Still, her skill in writing up goose-bumpy ghostly environments is certainly something.
"Now and then the shadowy shapes of tentatively moving carriages and hansom cabs rattled past. Figures came and went like wraiths in the thick mist. They appeared briefly silhouetted against a flaring gas lamp and then vanished, leaving only the echoes of footsteps."
I found the first couple of chapters bit slow/lacking despite the eerie opening. But then things pick up as the h/H team up to solve murders and end up teaming up for more.
The murder mystery isn't much but the hinted scandal in the h's past kept me hooked.
And I love how they embark on an 'affair'.
