Lord of the Mist Book

This second in Ms. Lawrence's series is another hit. From the very beginning of this story, when Cristina caught sight of Durand for the first time as he was coming out of the mist on his horse, until the end, my interest was captured by this very realistic story of capricious medieval kings and their power mongering, the betrayals amongst families, and the steadfast, sometimes desperate, love for children and soulmates. I was reminded as I read this historical romance that not much has changed since those bygone days, except for the progress of technology. Ms. Lawrence's excellent, descriptive writing made it easy for me to imagine myself in Cristina's place, feel her hopelessness and fear as they slowly changed to hope and joy. Now I can't wait to read the third book in this series!
