More Pet Bugs: A Kid's Guide to Catching & Keeping Insects & Other Small Creatures Book

Personal Reaction:
This is a sufficient book for younger grades. I thought the story behind it was appropriate and it was fun getting to follow the little puppy through the forest as it talked to different bugs and animals. It is not a book for one person though so it was a little lonely and awkward reading it by myself, but I see its ultimate purpose.

Purpose:
This is a book for children in grades 1-3. It serves its purpose as a poetry book, but the language is by no means difficult. It teaches students what types of animals, and insects, and nature you find in the forest which is a neat thing that not a ton of books do. However, the main purpose of this book is to read to a partner or friend. It is to help children find a voice when reading poetry. Children need to learn how to find the rhythm and beat to the poem by reading it aloud which many kids struggle with. They will not need to worry about difficult vocabulary or anything as such, just simply how to read poetry aloud.
