Your Five-Year-Old
As far as child rearing goes, this book, and a the others in the series, has a really simple promise: they deliver a general overview of what to expect in this year of your child's life. The books are a bit dated, especially with regards to gender roles for both the child and the parent(s). I read them each year with that in mind and mentally discard what's outdated. I find the books useful for giving me a broad look at my kid's development.
