Part I of this book is for beginners who don’t know a cross-country ski from a ladder. Part II is for novices intent on becoming intermediates. Part III is for those who now feel completely at home on cross-country skis and want to let loose with the experts. Part IV deals with the all-important matter of waxing. The authors don’t promise to get anyone on the United States Olympic Team; but the they feel confident that no matter how young or how old the skier-to-be-is, he will soon feel comfortable on cross-country skis and will enjoy the pleasures of ski touring—or even racing, if so inclined.
