Covering various aspects of the Dissenter movement between 1763 and 1800, it was 'designed partly as a study of a phase in the history of English opinion in the eighteenth century, and partly as an essay upon the evolution of certain political ideas in England.' Some political & social ideas of English dissent
The only problem with this book is that the pages of photographs illustrating each chapter seem to bear very little relationship to the text of each chapter, indeed they seem rather to have been added by the editor rather than the author based more on what was available than on what would be best for the book.
