So this entire book spans over a day or two and was a little out there but made for an enjoyable night-time read. The hero is the Chief in a small town and detains the heroine who is driving around with no ID in the snow. She fits the description of a criminal there is a look-out notice on and since he lives in a town where there is no fax he doesn't have this person's picture and since the heroine can't verify her identity he detains her. The heroine is outraged but gives as good as it gets. In the course of a night the hero comes to believe that she is who she is, not that he lets her know. The hero has been hiding in the town since his fiancee died in the line of duty. The romance requires disbelief, in the course of a day a city-slicker is ready to move her entire life for a man she met but I liked it.
