A wonderful novel based on the nationwide hit cable television series Saving Grace
In the shadow of past misfortune, Oklahoma police detective Grace Hanadarko lives life hard and fast. As for faith–well, she's working on it.

Saving Grace: Cry Me a River
I never watched the television show "Saving Grace." I don't know why, I really like Holly Hunter and Leon Rippy. Guess there was too much other stuff to watch at the time.
If the series is anything like this book, I really missed out.
The characters are raw and unflinching. None of them are angels (well, except Earl), all of them are flawed. The writing was good, no extraneous bullshit, no flowery descriptions. The religion angle wasn't overdone at all.
Think I'm gonna find the other books in the series and find the show, too, although I know the show cannot be quite as raw as the book.
