Esta antologÃa está compuesta por alrededor de quinientas cuartillas hermosamente ilustradas con el trabajo de más de setenta y seis artistas y la selección de casi un centenar de obras, todas ellas escogidas por el nivel de entumecimiento y humedad que provocan en la entrepierna, incluidas pistas tan caras a nuestro género como la referencia a los pasquines eróticos de la Inglaterra victoriana.
La obra es magnÃfica, no sólo atina en su selección en la que incluye piezas que sin duda son señeras sino que cita obras clásicas que sin ser eróticas, se emparentan con el género en algunos de sus pasajes, como Naná de Êmile Zola o el citado Ulises.
Charlotte Hill y William Wallace realizaron su antologÃa en 1992 y les fue impresa por Eddison Sadd Editions y la entrega que tengo en mi poder, en castellano, la debo a la benevolencia de Evergeen (2006), de alguna manera, filial de Taschen GmbH .
El libro es simplemente delicioso, y concluye con una invitación a coleccionar arte erótico y una pista de contacto para erotómanos: Nos invita James Maclean (experto en arte) a hacer contacto con la Erotic Print Society: EPS (Dpto. EB2), CP 2712, Londres W1A5YA, y anota un correo electrónico: [email protected] prometiendo que mediante el pago de 7.50 libras podemos hacernos de un catálogo de 104 páginas a color y obtener la inscripción a The Erotic Review, revista mensual de arte y literatura. (por cierto, el correo electrónico no existe, asà que ¡ruego cualquier información!)
