Breakneck
2.5 stars rounded up...
Although the plot showed a lot of potential, I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as the first book in the series. The growth of the relationship between Kitt and MC added a great deal to the first book. In this book, MC goes off the deep end fracturing her relationship with Kitt and pulling the story down with her. It was like every time she had to do the right thing and include Kitt, she chose the wrong option. She came off as selfish and stupid and grew very tired of her.
I also found it hard to believe that MC was allowed to be a part of the investigation as two of the people killed early on were her fiancé and her cousin. Not to mention a person of interest was also part of her family. It just wasn't realistic. Plus the murderer was pretty obvious early on.
