If you see a tiger Book

This is a combined review of both If You See a Tiger and If You See a Cow.

These are both lift-the-flap books which focus on animal sounds. Both are pretty thin on plot, but they do have eye-catching illustrations, and Little Miss Muffet can easily enjoy them independently, making the animal sounds as indicated by each picture. Each book tries to have a little joke on its final page - the Tiger book suggests whispering when passing a sleeping tiger, and the Cow book wants us to say "How do you do?" rather than "Moo" to the farmer - but these punchlines don't seem that clever, and they kind of fall flat. While attractive to look at, these have not become favorite read-alouds in our house so far.
