Pilgrim Path: The First Company of Women Missionaries to Hawaii Book

Pilgrim Path is the moving story of seven women who joined the first company of missionaries to Hawaii, reaching the islands after five months' voyage from Boston in the spring of 1820. They arrived under the auspices of the interdenominational American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, each woman eager to contribute her mite to the cause of converting the 'heathen' to Protestant Christianity. Single women were not accepted by the Board, and thus six of the seven married just before their ship sailed, fortunate to find mates who shared their desire for mission work.
