An Unconventional Miss Book

Good premise and plenty of story but I had trouble connecting with the characters.

There's no sex in the story but anyone who knows me knows that lack of sex in a story doesn't influence my book rating. I mention the no sex thing for those who either look for or avoid such stories.

At the very beginning of the story, the hero saves the heroine from highwaymen. Instead of being gracious, grateful, and polite, she's angry, rude and indignant. Why? Handsome man helps save her brother's life and she doesn't have a single nice thing to say to him? So I never did learn to like the heroine.

The H/h meet three times before "falling in love". The other half of the book they are in different locations pining for each other, except for one kiss on a balcony and at the climax when they confront the antagonist together. They spend more time in the company of friends than they do with each other.

Can't be real love unless they spend time in company.
