Dilemmas in Modern Jewish Thought: The Dialectics of Revelation and History Book

This book took me on a journey into the modern history of Israel and Palestine, of which I previously knew very little. The book gave me a rudimentary understanding of the issues that prevail there. David Lynch does not write in a dry academic way, he makes it all very interesting and shows the human aspect of the suffering and the dilemma that people face there, which is huge. He shows what it means in daily life for the Palestinians to be losing their land, their homes, and how imprisoned they feel having to live with the many road blocks and id checks which make daily living very difficult for them. It is such a complex situation. I was very interested in finding out why it is that the Israelis, who have suffered themselves so incredibly during the holocaust only some decades ago, can now inflict this suffering on the Palestinians. The author addresses this question, he also addresses the question of a solution to the whole problem of Israeli occupation of the West Bank, and puts forwards some theories. I've enjoyed this book very much and it has given me great interest for further reading on the subject.
