A world of polities Book

An excellent overview of world history since the end of World War 2. Well-crafted, balanced, with attention to areas like post-1960 Africa that too often get short shrift in survey texts. If I were still teaching freshman History, I'd certainly assign this as a Modern World History text, and I'd use it as a supplementary text for higher-level classes. I'm especially pleased with Keylor's take on post-2001 events and his attention to the strengths and weaknesses of using states as the primary actors in a post-Cold War and post-11 Sept. world. Worth having as a reference for anyone intersted in contemporary history.
