Following a series of seminars on the subject held at All Souls College, Oxford, in 1966 and 1968, the English Law Commission recommended that a Royal Commission be set up to examine defects in the administrative law of Great Britain. Successive governments refused to take action on this recommendation, and in 1978 an unofficial committee was formed under the auspices of the British Section of the International Commission of Jurists and All Souls College to undertake the project. This book contains the results of the committee's work, including its proposals and recommendations for clarifying and solving problems related to English administrative law.
