Meh! I wanted to like this book and thought from the jacket cover that it would be on the order of "Around the World in 80 Days" but oh boy, was I wrong. The premise is that a widow needs to help of a man she shared a kiss with years ago, an indiscretion that she has carried the sensual feelings inside for the last 12 years. He is a rakish adventurer, friend of her departed husband who has thought she was too loose and angry that his friend had married this woman, although he has carried the fantasies within for the last 12 years also. The join together to try to find the treasure of this race on the order of these new "Great Races" we see on TV. I thought i would be reading about deciphering the clues and how they surmounted these challenges, with some romance involved. Nah, it was boring and redundant and a waste of my time. Well, off to bigger and better things.
