A great book this - it gives a view of Nashville from the perspective of interesting singers and songwriters such as Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris and so on rather than the manufactured country mainstream. The book was published a while back now (2000). It would be good to see an updated version, to see if anything has changed in Nashville in the intervening years.
