In Pursuit of a Scandalous Lady Book

This was an incredibly fun romance but in reality probably closer to 3 stars than 4 just because the whole premise and all of the situations were just a little too far fetched for me to believe of that time. But I had such a good time so I'm rounding up.

Rebecca Leland spent most of her youth ill and confined to her quarters under the watchful eye of her mother, nurses, doctors.... you get the picture. Extremely sheltered would be an understatement. Once she got healthy her mother had her come out in society and Rebecca wanted to experience life for the first time but she soon found that life among the ton was just as controlled as her experience as a child. After a fever that caused her family to think she might not yet be over her frequent near death illnesses as a child, Rebecca decides she is done playing it safe and that there is every chance she might not live to regret her decisions.

The Earl of Parkhurst inherited his title at the age of 18 after his father died leaving the family to deal with his scandal. Julian has an overdeveloped sense of responsibility to his family and has never had any interest in creating a scandal after seeing what it can do to a family. His every move and decision is well thought out and deliberate. Until he meets Rebecca Leland.

I enjoyed how these two characters were together and their banter. I especially liked their growth both as individuals and as a couple over the course of the book. My only issue with the book is that despite the background provided, the premise and the situations that the leads found themselves in were just much too far-fetched for me to believe. The romance however, was excellent, so if you are looking for a fun historical romance with a road trip, and you don't mind some unlikely situations, then this might just be perfect for you.
