Jesse Owens (Time For Kids Biographies Series)
While reading, I picked up all sorts of new tidbits and facts about Owens that are mostly overlooked by his stunning track record.
This book is an offspring from the successful series made by the publishers of TIME magazine. As one could guess, TIME for Kids or TFK is just like its adult counterpart only simplified for kids. Therefore the book reads very much like a magazine. The text is large and the graphics that surround them are crisp and clean. The photos in the first part of the book covering the first half of Owen's life are assembled like a scrapbook. The book is broken up into 8 chapters and surprising only two of them are devoted his college career and Olympic fame, making sure the reader can equal take in the broad scope of this athlete life.
