Sugar and Spice Book

What I like about Jean Ure is that she is able to present a cast of teens that is believable in the way that they talk & behave. In 'Sugar and Spice', Jean Ure writes in a first person point of view which helps to solidify the characterisation & identity of the main character. I like the narrative because it just really reminds you how young these characters are & that they are still trying to understand the world around them. I guess, it helps adults to step down a notch and just see things from the perspective of a younger generation.

Having said that, I am beginning to realise that Jean Ure rushes through her ending which I don't appreciate. It messes up with the tempo & momentum of the story. But, still a good story about a timid, quiet girl who learns to find her voice & place in the world.
