Review # 1 was written on 2013-12-26 00:00:00 Steven Crawford Short poems but powerful poems. I read the book in one read but the images of the poems , the color of the poems, the sounds still reside in me. They have taught me about the cruelty of humanity and the endurance of humans. Some of the poems even made me gasp in how powerful and lingering they are. For example my favorite poem was by Yoshiko Kono "Not knowing His mother is dead. A blind infant Looks for her breast." |
Review # 2 was written on 2017-05-29 00:00:00 Bryan Cowan Stunning, heartbreaking, incredibly powerful poems. It's unbelievable how much these short pieces contain. The editor of this collection should be applauded, and the poets themselves proud of the way they've conveyed the horrific reality of this event to readers. |
