Review # 1 was written on 2009-10-29 00:00:00 Lawrence Leppert During a trip to Beijing three years ago, I became fascinated by contemporary Chinese art while exploring Gallery 798 (highly recommended). The established and the rising stars of modern Chinese artists are featured here, with chapters presenting a range of the usual and the unconventional(even repugnant)mediums to express ideas. The art featured in this book reminds me how inspired I felt after that visit; much is fresh and provocative.

Review # 2 was written on 2011-05-28 00:00:00 Ian Lennon Modern Chinese art is fascinating, and there is a lot left uncovered. While Richard Vine is an important figure in unearthing such works, I am really troubled learning that sexual opportunism even plagues the art world.
