Review # 1 was written on 2018-07-08 00:00:00 Bob Scharr Number 15 was entertaining to me especially because Pewter and a monkey named, Miss Nasty, loathe each other and trade amusing insults through out the story. Pewter is the comic relief of the regular cast and reminds me so much of my own naughty (but lovable) cats. There is not a doubt in my mind if my cats could talk, they would echo Pewter's sarcasm and spite. This story takes place at a horse show in Kentucky and I would say that of the first 15 books in the series, this is definitely one of my favorites.

Review # 2 was written on 2009-05-07 00:00:00 Christopher Mendoza This was not one of Brown's stronger entries. Her books are always sort of "horsy," but she usually does a pretty good job of explaining slang and the multitude of special tools and terms. This time around I was completely lost. There were so many new characters to keep up with I lost track about half-way through the story. I didn't particularly care that the victim was murdered, and I was only lukewarm when the bad guy got his comeuppance. I've noticed Brown has started using her books as mouthpieces for whatever government issues she wants to rant about. This time around it was the deportation of illegal aliens and the ineptitude of the INS agents. I skipped page after page of diatribes and irrelevant sidetracks. The only thing that kept me going was my affection for Harry and the gang.
