Review # 1 was written on 2011-09-24 00:00:00![]() I have read all of the "Kurt Wallander" series by Henning Mankell. I would rate them all very high and I enjoyed every one of them. Mankell's writing style is so smooth and easy. The reader is quickly drawn into Kurt Wallander's life and of course the struggle to solve the crime in the story. The plot lines are more clever than most other books of this type with many twists and complications. Many characters in the series return but it's not necessary to read the books in the order in which they were written. I would suggest that everyone read even just one of the books in the series and you will be hooked. |
Review # 2 was written on 2011-06-20 00:00:00![]() What are some of our thoughts as we age? Henning Mankell, speaking through Kurt Wallander has perceptive thougts about nearing the end of one's life which I found compelling. Lonliness will eat you up, Wallender says. The intrigue of the story was for me forgettable, but Mankell's incites, not. |
