White may not have been the first to think of this idea, and not having read the others, I will have to take his word for it that he brings something new to the table that, say, Amy Lowell hadn't. Still, it used to be fashionable to ask people if they could have supper with anyone from history....I could understand if neither Keats nor Shakespeare was their first choice. It's less easy to understand why this more modest version of such an opportunity is barely acknowledged, let alone accepted.

A wonderful exploration of two great poets. Concise, yet incredibly detailed. White explores how Shakespeare influenced Keats' ideas and language and provides a lot of solid evidence.
