The Mighty World Of Marvel (commonly shortened to MWOM) was Marvel UK's first-ever title, debuting in 1972, and is also the name of a similar current comic printed by Panini Comics, which bought the Marvel UK titles.
Spending much of the 1970s as Marvel UK's flagship title, MWOM published black & white reprints of American Marvel four-colour material. Thanks in large part to the success of MWOM, Marvel UK gained a foothold in the (at the time) vast UK weekly comic market, allowing the company to cross-market and later introduce non-superhero UK-reprint titles such as Planet of the Apes and Star Wars.
The Mighty World of Marvel explores the infinite reaches of the Marvel Universe – every Marvel hero and villain ever created can appear here! Two of Marvel’s biggest stars frequently feature in this title – Daredevil, the sightless Man Without Fear, and the Hulk, the terrifying green goliath!
MWoM appeals to readers from a wide age range, and gives them the chance to enjoy the adventures of countless Marvel heroes including Spider-Man, Captain America, Nick Fury, the Punisher, She-Hulk, Ghost Rider, the Silver Surfer and the X-Men!
Also featured are regular fact-file articles revealing details of the characters’ origins, life-stories and powers! Each issue celebrates the amazing pantheon of Marvel superstars, with the finest stories taken from over 40 years of Marvel’s history.
