Very interesting - just like Japanese and Chinese art has influenced European artists in the 19th century, Western art has likewise influenced Chinese art. Some artists rejected this influence and focused on the traditional styles that are part of Chinese identity. Other artists embraced the foreign concepts and developed new styles inspired by both cultures. The results of this divide is widely covered and explained in this insightful book.
