Like peek-a-boo, this book is a game. The picture on the page is identified when the page is turned. After a few times through, young kids will have it down pat and be able to supply the answer. In some cases, they get to see the whole item (animal, fruit, object) versus part of it. Where is it all leading? The images are cumulative. All of the items are sailing to a desert island in a boat made from the newspaper. While the selection seems quite fanciful, toddlers will enjoy looking at the colored-pencil illustrations and repeating the names of everything they see.
