Understanding Children's Literature

This is an introduction to the academic study of children's literature, but if it's still a bit hard-going, I recommend listening first to Prof David Beagley's lectures (La Trobe University), freely available on iTunes U. Beagley's series is called 'Genres in Children's Literature'.
