Suki III: Never Let Us End Book

This was a great read.

I learned about the differences between transgender, transexual, transvestite, and drag queen.

This is the story about Tarn and Jonathan, aka Twinkle Stardust, two gay man who love each other deeply and live in a domestic discipline lifestyle. Jonathan is a gay man that has a feminine side which he channels dressed in femme as Twinkle Stardust.

Twinkle is a big, spoilt brat that Tarn, bless his big heart, indulges for the most part. Twinkle gets himself into many dramas and bitchy fights with the other drag queens but in the end, they are all one big, happy family. Most of the fights or what they fight about, are pretty funny.

This book is funny, engaging, exhausting at times, and sad as well. It brings to light how they are subjected to not only homophobia but also transophobia which leaves Twinkle feeling very vulnerable and hurt. He has fought all his life for acceptance; even his own family shun him. But it is not all bad. Twinkles has a good support group and great friends that love him dearly. Though I wanted to trundle him at times, you can help but wanting to love and protect him.

The book is told in a journal format which I wasn't sure about. It did not stopped me from being really engaged and wanting to know what happened next.

I will be continuing this series for sure.

This story, told in diary format, is masterfully done. The narrator, his lover and secondary characters are well developed. Internals for all major characters are excellently shown in this difficult format. While all this great character development kept me enthralled with the story, the voice of the narrator is what will have me reading the next volume. Becuase of the voice of the story and the insights into the characters, this is one of those stories I think about long after I've finished the book.
