Shattering the Myth: Islam beyond Violence
Gordon has more knowledge of the Caucasus and does more real analysis here than anyone else writing in english on the topic. Excellent book. It's a little dense, and it's not a good introduction to the topic, but for those who are familiar with the Russo-chechen war or at least conversant with some of the inroads al Qaeda and other international islamist organizations have made into southern russia, then this is a great book.
