The most interesting and insightful parts of this collection of Japanese filmmakers comes in the interviews with them. The rest is a thrown together summarization of some important works with not much else to say about the directors or works themselves. Still worth the read if you're wanting to know more about one of the directors featured or state of genre films in the 60s/70s in Japan
