This story was based on true historical facts during the 1800's in Kansas. This is the first time that I have ever heard of this history, it's not in the history books.
I really enjoyed reading this series, it was very interesting! I admire the way these frontiers established themselves in this place, raising families, and yet rose above the struggles and trails of survival.
I highly recommend this book!

Morning Sky
This book was the 2nd in a trilogy about two planned cities in western Kansas in the 1870-80's. One city was to be settled by African Americans and the other city by whites. I didn't enjoy the second book nearly as much as the first. There were two plot lines in this book that I found too unbelievable. However, I enjoyed reading about the characters that I had become interested in through the first book of the trilogy.
