Kagetora, Volume 8 Book

Kagetora: Volume 8 is filled with good stories, but I have a problem with the rating of the book by Del Rey Manga. Now, I looked around the Del Rey Manga website for a long time yesterday trying to find an explanation on what each ratings stands for. I couldn't find a thing. I would think that Ages 13+ would not have nudity in it, sexual content, or extreme violence. Not only once in this book, but twice do we get to see Yuki's rear end and breast as she is standing up out of the water. Of course, Kagetora is there both times and when the second occurrence happens, the creator actually zooms in and focus on her private areas. Yes, we all know that Kageotra likes Yuki, enjoys seeing her naked, and probably wants to sleep with her, but that doesn't mean we need to see it. I wouldn't have a problem with this if the book was rated Ages 16+, but it isn't. Because of this, I have a issue with the rating. As the series progresses, we are seeing more and more of Yuki naked. Since sex is become more prevalent, the rating should probably be changed. I watched this happen in the Guru Guru Pon Chan series. When the rating finally changed, then the main characters had sex. I find it a shame when a series starts to change this way as it is the readers who are going to be hurt by this more than anyone else. Bummer.

As for the stories themselves, I did quite enjoy this book and all of the stories were fun.

Overall, because of the whole nudity issue, I had to rate this book lower than I would have liked to. Plus, the fact that half the book was filled with old stories from way back around the time of Volume 5. These were thrown in as filler, which is a little confusing since they happened so long ago. Not sure why all this happened in this volume, but I think it hurt it to do so. Overall, Kagetora: Volume 8 could have been much better, but as it stands, there are some good stories in here. Hopefully Akira Segami will get back on track in Kagetora: Volume 9. Let's hope so. This series is too good to have these issue.

Series is still continuing to get better! I love how close Kagetora and Yuki are getting. The only thing about this particular volume was that half of it was not on the current story line. The other ending half were extra stories from a shonen magazine insert and supposedly meant for around the 5th or 6th volume in the timeline. So it felt a tiny bit disjointed..Not enough for me to knock off stars, but still weird to be pushed back in time with them. Also, I don't know if anyone else feels this way about them, but the extra inserted stories felt a bit more forward with their relationship? Like Yuki was much more open about her feelings for Kagetora, and Kagetora saw her naked at one point, so IDK, it was just more...sexy and romantic? Not that I have any problems with that other than it felt a bit out of place at times. Really like it though, I can't believe this series will be ending soon! Only a few more volumes to go for me!
