Junjo Romantica, Volume 8 Book

What's become clear to me while re-reading this series is that I could easily live without both the Terrorist and the Romantica plotline, but Egoist truly is one of my most favorite things *ever*.

In this volume, there was an interesting scene in Romantica, where Usagi acknowledges that he raped Misaki in the beginning. Nevermind that it was eight volumes ago and that nothing really comes of it - basically Misaki says that it wasn't rape, so that's what makes it okay of course. (I'm so glad there are lots of BL manga that don't have this horrible trope, really.) But it was good that he realized it, at least? Meanwhile, Misaki is still unable to make up his freakin' mind which can be as amusing as it is annoying. What makes Romantica more fun than Terrorist are the details, though - the bear statue STILL cracks me up.

As for Egoist... Hiroki thinking that Nowaki was going to break up with him was heartbreaking. I kind of wish all the Egoist stuff could be collected separately. I'm re-reading those on a regular basis; they're like my favorite kind of fanfic.

I have to say that the German translation leaves a lot to be desired, however. I'm especially annoyed that Nowaki calls Hiroki "Hiro" instead of "Hiro-san". I don't get why they translate the Japanese honorifics, anyway - it works for other manga, so why not here, too? But in this case it's just wrong. Nowaki calls Hiroki "Hiro-san". That's one of the unchanging rules of the universe, or something.
