JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Volume 11 Book

Here we go. D'Arby is an awesome encounter. This is a "battle" designed around what Jojo does best; intense back and forths based on outsmarting your opponent. We get a couple of simple games that are made intense by the level of deceit going on. And seeing just what sleight of hand these guys will use to get the win is a ton of fun.

The inclusion of a real life dealing trick was a nice touch. Araki said that manga artists should maintain a constant interest in learning new things. And that's made apparent by the inclusion of things like second dealing. That prompted me to do research on the subject, and I ended up watching a couple of videos on dealing tricks. So Jojo got me to go out and learn something about the real world, which is really cool.

As the stakes continued to be raise I was on the edge of my seat. Because I have no idea how they're gonna get out of this situation. But I know it's going to be some hype shit that is still totally believable. The final hand of poker was amazing. Probably the most exciting part of Stardust Crusaders. Jotaro brazenly raising the stakes as D'arby slowly breaks down. And the payoff at the very end. Just, wow.

And then my boys Hol Horse and Oingo Boingo team up. Get out of here! Comedy gold. This self serious loser cowboy has to fulfill some stupid prophecy or else he's doomed. 10/10. The best individual volume of Jojo so far.
