John O'Hara: A Documentary Volume Book

For years The Nation was my preferred news magazine--ever since, in fact, The New Republic changed hands and went sharply to the right. Danto, Hitchens, Coburn, Vonnegut, Gore et alia were among my favorite writers. Leonard and his wife were the literary editors. I'd read things, despite the topic, just for the style of the writing.

This is a collection of pieces that John Dillon Leonard wrote for The Nation and other publications. Some I had read before. Most are sensationalistic and humorous, but, then, he was a cultural critic and the style and humor are arguably appropriate to the topics.
