Quite a read, set during the Alaskan gold rush of the late 1890's, told mostly through the eyes of a young Englishwoman, Hannah Butler, who elopes with an American and decides to try and find gold in Alaska. But plans never do run smoothly, and their eventual fate is one that will send shivers down your spine. Five big stars overall, and a happy recommendation from me.
